Furminated!

Sorry guys! It's not like I don't wanna post, but Mumsy has been so tired lately that she seldom allows me to type on her piece of metal! If you are wondering how I am, I have been rather well. In fact I gained quite a bit of weight since my hoomans gave up on the food fight. They have started giving wet food mixed with my kibbles and since the regime started, I have finished all my meals! YUMZ!! So to all the doggies that are still fighting for good food, keep up with your hunger strike!

Anyhow, Mumsy ordered a Furminator from Benny's Mum in May and that lazy arse (my Mumsy not Auntie Zoe) didn't bother to collect it from Auntie Zoe! She finally got it last wheek after much chasing from Auntie Zoe. Immediately, my hoomans wanted to furminate me. I was a bit suspicious cos I smelled Benny on the packaging.. I thought it was some new toy or chew bones from Benny! Dad had a hard time convincing me not to go for the Furminator and to sit still while he did it! I kept wanting to have a bite of it! You can see from the peektures how confused I was. Cos usually if I perform some tricks, my hoomans will reward me with something... And I was hoping that this time, it would be the Furminator!

Daddy trying to tell me rolling over doesn't mean I get to bite the Furminator

Trying to get a nibble of it!

Ok no more monkeying around. Don't be fooled by my docile face cos immediately after that I went for the Furminator again!

Daddy was pretty skeptical of the brush, cos to him, it looked like any other brush.. Nothing really special about it. Plus the instructions mentioned that it might cause skin burns if the hoomans don't use it properly so Dad was brushing me very gingerly. Hence he didn't get much fur out! Mumsy got impatient and took over. In 10 mins, she got that pile of fur out of my coat!

Can you see the fur ball? Notice Mumsy holding onto my tail? Cos I have the tendency of eating my own fur...

Clearer??

Mumsy brushed me again the following night and I am proud to say that I produced another big fur ball!! May be I should measure the balls I produce! Dad was finally convinced it was worth paying so much for this brush cos when he gave me my weekly shower, I didn't clog up the drain. That's a first for me! I am gonna get furminated again tonight and I have to admit, it is rather soothing... The only worry Mumsy has is that it seems to be getting more fur out on my right flank than my left one.. Dad said if that continues, I might be bald on the right! GASP!!!

The making of a Sith (?!) Lord

Obvious this post would have loads of inputs from my Mumsy. No sane doggy would subject him/herself to such humiliation.

The story begins...

Long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, a young Jedi Doggie has been captured by two evil hoomans, in their bid to convert him into the world's first Doggie Sith Lord!

First, the young doggie has to subject himself to a thorough wash to remove the reek of the Jedi off him...

As you can see, he isn't enjoying it much. He is trying to use his big eyes to implore someone to release him from this torture.

After the trial by washing, there is the trial by rinsing... For a corgi who hates water, this tests every bit of his courage. He has a big pail of water dumped on him unceremoniously. He tries to escape and return to the Light but he cannot escape the clutches of the evil hooman (This is def MY input!) despite shaking lotsa water at him!

As if the torture was not long drawn enough, he has to be subjected to BUTT washing (yes, not brain washing). By this time, the young Jedi lost his resolve and started to whine...

At last he is half through the rite of conversion! Before leaving the water hell, he has to go through the squirting rite of passage while the evil hoomans laugh away....

He is not through yet. To be a Sith Lord means he has to earn his cape! He tries to escape but the hoomans are too strong... Whining doesn't help either...

Slowly, his resistance weakens... He now obeys the evil hoomans, albeit with some reluctance.. The transformation is almost complete!

After the final vigorous rub of the cape, our young palawan is now

a

Doggie

Sith Lord!

Uncle Martin's visit: The bad side

I always have mixed feelings when Uncle Martin comes to visit me. Why? Because he brings the yummiest stuff over to me, like my milk bones and new food (this time around it is Addiction's Bush meat!). If he only just stick to delivering the good stuff and leave my paws alone, he might be my favouritest hooman ever!

But NOOOOO, he has to always take the stupid nail clipper out to check my nails and give them a trim! WHY oh WHY must he torture me so? So I do what I do best: STRUGGLE! Now it takes Dad and Uncle Martin together to get all my nails trimmed. I dunno why it is so scary for me. It doesn't really hurt but when I see the clipper coming close to my digits, it is just pure panic for me.

Here's me greeting Uncle Martin happily! Note my waggy tail!

Here's me not looking at the nail cutting process! In this case, I have gone totally limp and Dad has to support my weight.

And here's me trying to take a bite out of the nail clipper and Uncle Martin's paw steathily.

I try to think of the good stuff that Uncle Martin brings along each time and it makes things easier to bear. I will show u guys the loot he brought along in the next post. Till then...

New friends, new experience

What a wonderful day it was for me! I thought I was gonna be stuck at home doing nothing much again since Daddy woke up early to go to work and Mumsy was still snoring away. To my surprise, once she managed to get her lazy butt out of bed, she got herself and me ready in a jiffy (15 mins is a record for her). She told me that we were going to a new place to meet new friends.
After what seem like a looong car ride (which I fell from the car seat when Mumsy hit the brakes hard), we arrived at this park which smelled wonderfully new to me. I immediately tugged Mumsy towards the place where all the doggy scents led to, the dogrun! And in there, I saw two handsum corgis! Mumsy introduced me to Augus and Ode, two brothers belonging to two sets of hoomans. I was a lil' afraid of them at first and had to run from Ode when he came up sniffing. Augus was friendlier so I stuck close to him, and joining us was this Jack Russell that looked like a deer and this black and white mix. On a whole I just tagged along with the two other corgis since I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. The Jack Russell chased me though and I had to hid underneath the bench to get away from him! Mumsy was left shaking her head at me but she, Auntie Jane (Augus's Mummy) and Auntie Jane's mummy all agreed that we get along very well. Which is a good thing as I am gonna board with them when my hoomans disappear sometime this month. Auntie Zoe and Benny were supposed to take care of me, but Auntie Zoe opened a new BIG biz so I guess I must remind her to give me a discount when I visit her NEW SHOP.

I think I better leave it to the peektures to tell the complete story of what I did this morning at the dogrun. U can see that I was practically Augus's shadow! Augus is the one with similar colouring as me while Ode is the sable one.
Giving Augus a massage with my jaws!
Me checking on Augus' butt! Smells just like a dog!

Ode drinking water while Augus and I watched him.

Mumsy especially like this photo above of our butt shot!

This series is of Augus and I running after Auntie Joan, Auntie Jane's sister. I am pretending to be Augus's shadow.

After the run, the three of us were covered with each other's drool and sand. Auntie Sharon and Auntie Jane decided to bring Ode and Augus to shower first so Mumsy drove all of us to Uncle Martin's place! I never been to Uncle Martin's shop before and it was like my bestest dream come true. His shop was stacked from floor to ceiling with yummy dog food! Mumsy decided that I should go for a shower and grooming too, since my fur was getting a lil' out of shape. I was so scared when the grooming lady took out that buzzing thing to shave my paws! I think I bit her accidentally and got a scolding in return. Hey, I am a puppy what and I have not been to the groomer's often. Mumsy explained to the groomer and she (the groomer) gave me a reassuring hug before she continued. I felt a tad better after the hug and Mumsy left me there with Uncle Martin and the groomer while she went off with the rest of the hoomans for lunch. Here are some peektures of me at the groomer.

Mumsy reappeared some time later, when I was already smelling great. I waited for her patiently (well not really, I whimpered when I saw her cos I missed her already) while she did some shopping for me. She got me loads of stuff again, including this tee shirt that says England 7, which from what Daddy said, it was supposed to be something called beckham. I think it is a type of yummy sausage that's why it is called HAM. OOOOH she bought the chicken drummets! I nosed through the shopping bag when she wasn't looking! I can't wait for Sunday's dinner!
This bandana was given to me by the groomer. I supposed it was to reward me for being such a good dog. *grin* See my hairless ears?

Slurp!

I finally got to sink my teeth into the delishious Evanger's chicken drummet dinner, but I got only ONE miserable piece! Mumsy transferred the whole can out for me to see but before I can even take a whiff of it before she tapped my nose and kept the rest in the fridge! Can you believe it? One small piece only! So now I m smart. Whenever Mumsy opens the fridge, I'll sit right at the opening and stick my head in! My ears get cold though, but I am not complaining. Even if I can't get to eat them, at least I get to stare longingly at them.

Here's the photos of the chicken drummets! Mumsy mixed it with my old and new keebles. There's even carrots in the drummet sauce. There is even a veedeo of me enjoying the chicken! Obviously I went for the chicken first before the usual keebles. You can hear Mumsy and Dad talking in the veedeo cos Mumsy wanted to teach me to pick up food that I dropped before going back to my foodbowl for more. I am drooling all over Mumsy's metal as I type this. *slurp*

I am finally shedding too! My fur is everywhere and I am kinda pleased about it. Cos that means I am going to be a big boy. Chester, my bro, has been bragging to me about his new denser chest hair and I was kinda envious as mine still look sparsed and puppish. Now I can show off my new coat to him when I finally see him for the dog walk this wheekend! That lazy bum skipped school last Sun again.

I also get perverse pleasure of seeing Mumsy sneezing her nose off and chasing after those lil' dust bunnies made out of my fur! Those dust bunnies also keep me entertained as they seemed to have a life of their own. I am not that stupid to think that they are alive since they are part of me and I should know my body parts well right? I like chasing them though. *grin*

Here's some peektures of Mumsy brushing me. Don't I look like I am enjoying myself? I used to hate getting brushed but now I just flop on my belly and let Mumsy do her magic. She told me I needed to be brushed daily or I might get hotspots. Which I promptly showed her the one I have been worrying about since last afternoon. She and Dad immediately pinned me down to clean the wound and boy, it stings! This morning, they did it again and I growled and growled at them but they wouldn't let me go! But the wound didn't feel as itchy this morning as it did last night.

See the amount of hair I am shedding? That brush only ran through my fur 5 times and it got all clogged up! Mummy is complaining that she is eating my fur with all her meals!

To the groomer's we go....

I had a new experience today! Last evening, Mummy was trying to cut my ‘thumb’ nail and being the naughty boy I am, I struggled like mad. Mummy accidentally cut off some of my quick and I gave a big yelp and bled all over the floor. Daddy saw the blood and scolded Mummy for being careless. I kinda pitied Mummy for getting scolded cos honestly it was my fault but I ain’t gonna tell her that! Mummy was so guilty that she gave me an extra serving of my favourite chicken jerky!

Anyway aft that that traumatic experience (I think Mummy was more traumatized than me), Mum brought me to the groomer this afternoon. At first I thought it was a treat as I haven’t been out for a couple of days (more of that later). I wagged my tail so hard at this huge guy at the groomer’s and when he led me off into a small room. I promptly forgot about Mummy and happily walked off without her. When I went into the small room, I saw 2 other doggies! I got even more excited! The big guy hoist me up onto a table and to my horror, grabbed my paws! I realized that I got conned into getting my nails cut! I struggled and struggled, looking for Mummy, but she wasn’t in the room with me. The big fella was now using some buzzing tool to do something to my paws (he was getting his paw pads shaved) but I continued to struggle.

All of a sudden I heard tapping and saw that Mumsy was standing outside and looking at me. She tried to talk through the glass and I could hear her telling me to stay. So for 2 seconds, I laid on my belly quietly before resuming my struggles. Luckily the big guy was patient with me and stopped for a moment to calm me down. He finished my four paws and I thought I was home free, until I saw the nail clipper! I struggled even more and yelped each time the nail clipper went ‘click’ (Cody was acting like somebody was out to murder him!). But by then I was getting a lil’ exhausted so the groomer cut them pretty quickly.

And still my ordeal was not over. He took the buzzing thing again and this time he aimed it at my, ahem, sensitive regions. Mummy later explained that the guy was shaving my nether regions so that my pee won’t wet my fur. That wasn’t so bad cos I felt much cooler aft that! I think I can handle it the next time I go to a groomer.

After getting out of the groomer’s shop, I immediately went berserk and wanted to chase those black things that can fly (he meant the mynahs). My hoomans normally bring me out when the sky is dark and I don’t get to see these flying black things. Coupled with the fact that I have not been out since Sat’s trip to the Botanny-cal Garden, I longed to run free. Now the reason that I have not been going for my usual walks is because I have been having the runnies (diarrhea). After the grooming, I offloaded quite a bit of watery stools. I feel perfectly fine though and tried my best to convince my hoomans to bring me out but Daddy was pretty firm about it. Hence all I have been doing is playing Fetch with them in the kitchen. So boring! I overheard Mummy making an appointment to see Dr Ling on Fri that means I get to go out and stretch my legs!

Mummy had to drag me home cos all I wanted to do was to run around and play with those black flying things. On the way home, I saw the hoomans living next door to me and guess what I saw tiny hoomans too. The tiny hoomans smelled very nice and they seem to be smarter than the big hoomans cos one of them could communicate with me with doggie language. He was going, “ooooo….” and “waaaaah”. Sounds like me when I want attention! The other tiny hooman came to pet my head. I wanted to pounce on him cos he was about the same size as my best bud, Chester, but Mummy held my leash tight. She then spent some time talking to the big hoomans while I tried my best to get near to the tiny hoomans. They even came to my home but before I could show them around, Mummy locked me up in the kitchen. I did manage to show them my housemates, Scrappy and Scruffy though.

It was a pretty eventful afternoon for me. Normally I would be all alone and I guess despite getting my paw pads shaved and my nails cut, it was a treat for me to have Mummy with me today. I wish she didn’t have to disappear every morning though. Sigh… I wonder where she goes?
