Hot date with the babes!

WOAH! I had a hot HOT morning at the beach with a couple of hot babes!

It came as a complete surprise cos usually my lazy arse Mumsy would like to sleep in on Sat mornings. This morning, the hoomans woke up early, got me ready in a jiffy and told me we were going to meet some pretty babes!

Waiting patiently for Daddy at the void deck while he buys coffee

And yes, I finally met Miss Fussypot Pants herself! She is reeeaaally cute, although like I mentioned before, I like my gals a bit furrier! I could sense that she wanted to touch me cos she kept standing in front of me and blocking my view but something stopped her. I tried to stay still for a bit so that she can touch me but I think she is too shy.. May be she has a crush on me!

The weather was unbearably hot that I drooled tonnes... Dad brought me to the sea and I surprised him by JUMPING into the sea! Now my frens who have been following my blog would have known that I don't quite like the sea. Mumsy promptly tried to film me SWIMMING but that klutz must have hit the wrong button cos when she got home, there was NO VEEDEO in the camera! DUH.. and they say primates are the smartest animals on the planet.

I did the swimming stunt a few more times cos Miss Fussypot Pants wanted to see.. Poor Auntie Xian had to keep carrying her cos she (the cutie) didn't wanna touch the sand. After a bit, the 2nd babe arrived! This one is really tiny! Baby Lilin kept grinning at me and was brave enough to touch me. To reward her, I licked her foot a couple of times and she giggled each time when I did that. Mumsy told me the tiny hooman coming will be like Baby Lilin and that I have to be gentle with hoomans of this size. I was! I sat there for Baby Lilin to pat my head!

Sexy babe alert! Baby Lilin struggling to get to me!

Back to Miss Fussypot Pants, Cate... She finally plucked up the courage to feed me some water. After her first try, she kept trying to feed me more.. I tried my best to drink as much as I could, but seriously babe, there's only so much I can drink!

Cate plucking up her courage to feed me water

We mingled a bit more before the tiny hoomans had to go get some food in their tummies. By then I was getting tired myself too! The weather was really getting into me and I was so thankful when the hoomans led me to the car.

Oh one last thing. I met another babe at the beach too. Her name is Cookie and she is a 10 mth old Border Collie! Even Mumsy said she was lovely cos she has never seen a BC in that colouration before. I was a bit afraid of her though and Mumsy had to embarrass me by calling me a COWARD! SIGH!!! PARENTS!

Nice & sunny!

The weather held! It was bright and sunny the whole of today and my hoomans decided to bring me for a looong walk at the beach to make up for the lack of exercising the whole of last wheek!

All ready to go! Here's me in my hoomans' new veehicle!

Lotsa hoomans at the beach!

It was very warm though, and we corgis aren't really built for such hot weather! I was panting within 5 mins but was definitely game to take a long walk!

Here's me on the beach! It smelled funky... I can't really decided if I like the smell of the beach. Dad saw a pile of weirdly shaped sand and wanted to trample on it but Mumsy stopped him! Apparently, my fellow doggie frens, these are NOT the works of aliens (whatever they are) but of tiny hoomans! Somebody should teach them to do better things than that!

Me at the strand line, sniffing the smell of fresh air!

See the weird pile of sand on the right? Also notice that I have been doing some serious sniffing around!

I am still petrified of the sea though. Mumsy managed to capture a short bit on veedeo showing me running away from the incoming waves. Sigh.. Sometimes I think parents are out to embarrass their kids, hoomans or otherwise.

We next came to a new area of the park, a place where hoomans zipped around this body of water, ON TOP of it! I was rather amused by them flying here and there! May be they are a new type of hoomans that can fly!

New species discover by me: hoomanus volans!

I was quite a celebrity today too! A lot of the hoomans were pointing at me. Sometimes I hear good stuff like, "So cuuuuute!" or "That's a cute corgi!". But there are some really annoying hoomans that said "Sausage dog!". I am not a dachshund! The two breeds only have one thing in common, short legs. I have more similarities to a husky (tail, shaggy mane and pointy ears) than a dachshund! Well, I can tolerate these people as sometimes, my hoomans would correct them and tell them that I am the Queen's dog! The people I can't tolerate are those that view me like I am a monster! A couple of gals actually stood frozen in place squealing at me when they saw me! I could smell their fear and was tempted to pee at their legs, if it wasn't my hoomans stopping me! Hmmppff!

Contemplating on why some hoomans think I am a monster

After the two hours walk, I was completely bushed. Collapsed in a heap where ever my hoomans stopped. It feels good in a odd way, your muscles aching, your throat parched and your paws sore. But I rather have a good work out then stay at home doing nothing!

Me, stretched out on the floor of the lift in my apartment building!

The day I almost killed my Mom...

The hoomans have been really busy. Apparently it is the Lunar New Year so they have to do lots of cleaning and throwing and keeping the house clean. Even with Auntie Huay coming to help them, they were still struggling all the way till Wed's night, which was the eve of the New Year. Because of all the cleaning and washing, I haven't been getting my usual dose of attention. Even my daily walks were shorter! I could only watch the hoomans carrying mops, brooms, this machine that sucks in stuff and makes lotsa noise, tonnes of washings, detergents and such around the house. That is when they are at home though. They have been coming home late, laden with deliciously smelling stuff (Mumsy: they are the tibits and cookies for the Lunar New Year). But the good news is, the Lunar New Year has came and went and the hoomans are back to giving lotsa attention! Not only that, the hoomans have lotsa other hoomans visiting them! Grandpapa, Grandmama and Auntie E came over this afternoon and I had lotsa fun playing with them although Grandpapa said I was a big coward! HMMMPPFF!

Just a background for my non-Chinese hoomans frens: Chinese around the world celebrate Lunar New Year as the start of spring. Festivities last 15 days, starting on the eve of the Lunar New Year, where families gather around to have reunion dinners. These dinners are usually more lavish than those prepared at other times of the year and extended families will travel long distances to catch up and meet up with frens and family. On the first day of the year, the younger generation will visit their elders and those who are married would have to give red packets to single relatives! All in all, it is a very tiring but happy time for everybody! Mumsy tried to include me in the festivities by buying me US Doggie Bakery's reunion dinner and making me pose with red lanterns!

Me, looking stoopid with red lanterns.

My yummilicious reunion dinner! Yumzzz...

Pose, pose, pose. Hoomans and their posings!

Today the hoomans are a lot more free and they decided to make it up to me by bringing me to the beach. Everything went well and they stopped at a drive through to buy food. That's when the problem started and I almost killed my Mumsy. Mumsy decided to carry me on her lap and opened the car window so that I can feel the breeze on my face. I normally sit at the foot of her feet in the car. I kinda enjoy the wind ruffling through my fur but hate it when other cars zoomed passed! We managed to find a place to park and I noticed that Mumsy was starting to have her sniffles. She began to rub her nose and started sneezing in my face! That isn't something out of the ordinary as Mumsy is very sensitive to many stuff and her sneezing in my face is quite the norm. But this time around it wasn't like the usual. She started developing welts on her face and her mouth swelled! By this time Dad was worried and insisted that she sat down and rest. Her eyes were red and she was wheezing like an old lady. In the mean time her sneezes continued unabated and she began having difficulties trying to draw a breath. I tried to comfort her but Daddy held me far away from her! Dad himself couldn't go near her without me getting in her face. She rested for quite awhile before recovering some what. Dad insisted that we aborted the walk and headed for home, but didn't want her to be in close contact with me. Can you imagine how hurt I was? It was as if I was making her sick! Mumsy had to drive and you could see that in the enclosed area of the car, she was steadily getting worse again. She managed to get us all home in one piece before she collapsed in the kitchen, sneezing and coughing at the same time. Dad had to shut me up in the loo while he tend to her. I heard Daddy insisting something about hospital and injections but Mumsy managed to pop a pill in time. By then her face was covered with rashes, her eyes were red and watery, her throat and mouth were itchy and she couldn't breathe properly... Dad bundled her up to take a bath and that was the last I saw of her. She is resting now, but I think she is better cos she has stopped sneezing!

Mumsy's rashes after the welts subsided. Can you imagine how bad it was before that?

Daddy later explained that Mumsy almost went into anaphylactic shock as she had a bad reaction to me. I was really puzzled cos I have been together with Mumsy for almost a year and have never seen her reacting to me in this manner! Dad said that when I sat on her lap and stuck my head out of the car window, the wind ruffled my fur and caused dander to be blown into her face, hence she reacted that badly. Mumsy is allergic to 78 different things out of the 150 stuff she tested against. And guess what? She is allergic to DOGS! I was so insulted! The only good thing is that she is also allergic to cats and get this: COWS! When she changes Scrappy and Scruffy's litter, she wears a mask to prevent herself from getting a bad reaction. At this point, I started to blame myself for causing Mumsy so much pain. Dad saw it and told me that Mumsy loves animals too much to live without them and wanted to have me despite knowing the dangers and that I shouldn't be blaming myself.

Sigh... The only good thing was in the hurry to finish the food and get Mumsy home, my hoomans shared with me their fries! I just hope Mumsy gets better and we can all go out for a nice walk tomorrow!

Pawsitive Sensations' Official Opening!

My hoomans woke up earlier than usual this morning and started bustling around immediately. I could sense that something was up cos Mumsy was running around getting ready while Dad was trying to get my school bag ready. Something was definitely up, so I refused to eat my breakfast cos I wanted to find out what was going to happen.

Mumsy has been dropping Benny's name at me in hope that I will eat my breakfast, and for an instance I thought we were going to Benny's! Knowing that my Mum likes to bluff me, I didn't want to get my hopes high. Was bundled into the veehicle and when the door next opened, I was back at a familiar place: Auntie Zoe's shop! It was Pawsitive Sensations' Official Opening and yes, I was going to see Benny!!!

Except it wasn't just Benny, there were 2 other corgis there, Dexter and Barn2! I have never met them before and since Benny was busy doing his duty as the official mascot, Dexter and I had loads of fun playing together. Mumsy was very impressed with the well behaved Dexter, who was a gentleman, not like me, tumbling and bumping into stuff. Barn2 was another matter. He looks fierce and he growled at me when I tried to make friends with him! He is huge too but Mumsy seemed to be especially taken with him. Saw her telling Auntie L (Barn2's Mum) that this is how a corgi should be, big and sturdy. I steered clear from Barn2 after he gave me the fiercest growl ever! Having a 18kg dog pouncing on me isn't my idea of fun. I got the feeling that Barn2 feels that we kids are too noisy for him and he can't wait to put us in place. I got photographic evidence of Barn Barn giving us the evil eye!

Top to bottom: Benny standing at the door, welcoming guests; Dexter and I; gentle Dexter and scary Barn2.
When Benny was released from his duty, the boy (dressed up nicely with a red bow tie) came to join Dexter and I for some wrestling! Benny took turns to wrestle with us before we all escaped and ran out into K9 Kulture's compound! I followed Dexter around and I must say that chap has good taste! He actually ran directly into US Doggie Bakery! For the next couple of minutes, it was me pulling my hoomans around after Dexter. Benny joined us too before Mumsy put a stop to it and brought me back to Auntie Zoe's shop. They had to leave to go somewhere else and I didn't even notice them telling me goodbye. Benny and Dexter were just too distracting!

After a bit, everybody left and Auntie Zoe started her massage on me. I struggled a bit and hoped that by biting her, she would just leave me alone to play with Benny. But she gave me a stern scolding and I decided that I might as well just lie there and relax a bit. Benny took the chance to sleep and woke up refreshed for the next bout of wrestling. In between all the fun, I peed in Auntie Zoe's shop 6 times and unloaded a big pile of crap under the food table! Mumsy said I must apologise for the bad toilet behaviour so Auntie Zoe, I am really sorry for not telling you that I needed to pee. *blush* Sorry for making you and Uncle Clement wiping my mess countless of times.

My hoomans reappeared later that afternoon and by then both Benny and I were tired. We attempted to do one last bout of wrestling but gave up. My hoomans said it was time to go but i refused to budge. They literally had to drag me out of the shop. But I guess I was kinda tired too cos I slept all the way home and collapsed in a heap once I got home.

Playing is tiring too u know!

Cody the Cowardly Dog

It is pretty obvious that I share this post with my Mum. Who (doggie or otherwise) would call themselves a COWARD?

My Mumsy said I remind her of Courage the Cowardly Dog, a dog that is terrified by the most mundane things in the world. I shook my tail at that, cos I am NOT that a coward. She begs to differ though. I tried to erase this but Mum took her metal back and edited this post, so I am limiting the damage by rewriting the whole thing.

Yes I got to admit I have a huge fear of the dark now. I used to wait eagerly for my walks at night, wagging my tail off and giving my hoomans a big grin when they take the leash out. But nowadays, I am a bit more subdued. Don't get me wrong. I still prefer to get out and stretch my legs but why can't they bring me out when the big globe of light is still shining? And why on earth do they have to bring me to dark places? I keep having flashbacks of that fateful night when the darn husky sprang a surprise on me. I'm sure if I have seen him coming, I would have given him as good as I got! So now I keep whirling around to check my back when we are out. My hoomans are pretty irritated with this behaviour and try their best to encourage me to walk properly (not run away in fear).

And yes, I am sure after what I have gone through, you would understand why I try to make myself invisible when I encounter another dog. Why can't my hoomans be more understanding? They brought me to the dog run last Sat and all I wanted to do was to dig a hole and bury myself when I saw the number of huskies there! There were other big dogs too and I was too petrified to do anything else but hid under the bushes. Mumsy dragged me out and made me sit in the middle of the field, holding my collar. When other dogs came up to me to investigate, it took Mumsy everything to prevent me from bolting away. I actually snapped at a friendly cocker spaniel when he persisted in sniffing my butt! Dad pitied me and suggested to bring me home early. I was so relieved that I ran to the gate and stood there while my hoomans took their own sweet time.

I thought we were going straight to the veehicle but NOOOOO, my Dad said we should sit at the benches next to the pond for a bit. All around me were big dogs getting their shower and being dried. The only good thing was they were leashed or placed high up on a table so they couldn't get me. However, next to me was a small Maltese that was super friendly. My hoomans were laughing at the way the Maltese was standing on his hide legs and dancing around. I was pretty glad to watch from afar but that Maltese decided to come and make friends. I immediately got up and tried to tug my hoomans towards the car but they were too dumb to make a connection. So I had to run around in circles AWAY from the Maltese. Gawd, it is killing me just to admit this fact, but I prefer my version of the story than what Mumsy had written. The Maltese was like some mad possessed dog, twirling on his hide legs and coming after me at the same time! *Shudder* I can't write anymore about this without dying so I guess it is better you watch the veedeo yourself.

Mumsy was concerned enough to tell Lucas (my trainer in case you are wondering) about my bad(?!) behaviour at the dog run when I went for class on Sunday. To try see how bad I was, he brought up 3 of his dogs, Bailey, Jean and this chocolate lab. I was trembling in fear because on Sunday I was the only dog that attended school and I was always hanging out with puppies! But Lucas brought out my fav toy, tennis ball, many of them in fact. He bounced the balls around and rest of them chased after the balls and I did the OPPOSITE. I ran away from the dogs! Mumsy joined in the fun and after seeing how the other dogs ran after her for attention, I was jealous that she wasn't playing with me. I started to run after the balls she threw and after awhile I started to enjoy myself! I was so surprised at myself when I ran after a ball that Jean was chasing and grabbed it away from her! Needless to say, I had the best training session that afternoon!

All the same Mumsy is thinking of sending me to K9 Kulture for more socialisation classes. I can then have a relaxing massage with Auntie Zoe and have lotsa fun with Benny! Thinking of all the fun I can have with Benny almost make me forget the fear of socialisation classes!

I am still deciding if the pain from going for socialisation classes is worth Benny's wild romps! What do you guys think?

Fun, fun, FUN!

I went back to school yesterday! And so did Chester! Mumsy's toe was better so she took me over to Lucas's and sad to say I didn't do anything at all. I sulked at one corner while Mumsy tried her best to entice me with sausages but I wasn't interested! All I wanted to do was to wrestle with Chester, but he had to be the goody-two-shoes and performed all his obedience command perfectly. Rats! So now everybody thinks that I am a spoilt brat who throws tantrums as and when he wants. But I am proud of Chester though, my bro is good enough to go for agility classes, while I am stucked at obedience. Nobody to blame but myself.

The fun only started after class! Chester and our new friend, Nikka, came over to my place! Nikka is a three months old husky (yes I can hear your sigh of disbelief) who is rather wild... Luckily she is about the same size as me so I could still handle her. You can see how wild she is on the veedeos below! Chester and I had a hard time handling her.

Nikka looks fierce don't she?
Three heads are better than one!

Chester, all tired out from Nikka's rough play!

I was wondering why the sudden change of routine. I don't get visitors you see, and was rather surprised that I had two other doggie friends with me. Mumsy kept an eye on us while Uncle Ian and Nikka's dad went to get lunch. Mumsy told me that all of us were going to Auntie's Zoe's new shop! Apparently Mumsy was worried about me after the husky attack and wanted to send to for a massage to relax! And best of all I get to see Benny!

So the 7 of us made our way there. It was a huge compound and the road smelled rather queer. Auntie Zoe said they only just resurfaced it. Anyhow, Benny was there and he immediately pounced on me. I am not sure why Chester or Nikka didn't attract his attention. Is it because I look like I can be bullied? He kept nipping my ears and I have the evidence to prove it! And my brother didn't bother to lend me a helping paw! Auntie Zoe scolded Benny for barking and quickly shuttled me into the treatment room. I didn't like it cos I could see Benny. Chester and Nikka's shadows from under the door and all I wanted was to rush out to play with them!

Look at Benny's face! No help from my bro as u can see!

Alas, Auntie Zoe and Mummy held onto me tightly while Daddy used his thin frame to block out as much of the shadows as he could. I whined and whined and whined, until even my hoomans were surprised. Cos I never whined for so long and that loudly before. Can't they understand that a dog gotta play when a dog gotta play? Needless to say, I showed my displeasure to Auntie Zoe. I tried to bite her, wriggle out of her grasp and struggled when she tried to massage me. Mumsy and Dad had to scold me numerous times but the massage did me good! Auntie Zoe said my tummy was rather bloated and massaged it so well that I let out a loud burp in Mumsy's face! That wasn't all, I managed to let out a small amount of lethal gas through the other outlet quietly, into Auntie Zoe's face! Mumsy told me that was very rude of me and I think I owe Auntie Zoe an apology. Sorry Auntie Zoe, your massages were so good that I had no way but to let it all out.

Mumsy also told Auntie Zoe to check on my right hindleg as I was walking in a weird manner. Auntie Zoe said I have been lazy and have not been using my right legs correctly and consistently. I might have strained it, but honestly I don't remember any pain (trust me, I remember pain very well). Lo and behold, just as I was starting to enjoy the massage, the session ended. Once Auntie Zoe opened the door, Benny immediately pounced on me and we had a good time wrestling while my hoomans left me there to explore the place. Mumsy even bought me some cookies from US Doggie Bakery but she said that's for me to share with Augus when I go and stay with him tomorrow.

I felt much better after the massage and the prolong wrestling bout I had with Benny. All doggies should try the massages Auntie Zoe gives! And after that, have fun with Benny! Makes a dog's day compete. Visit K9 Kampus for more details of all the other shops located there. I overheard Mumsy discussing with Auntie Zoe to have me go over once a wheek for massage and then Auntie Zoe would bring me to the shop next door for some socialisation classes. Mumsy said I am a coward! Well, if she got her neck clamped by a huge hooman, she would be feeling the same way as I do. Hmmmppff!

The Final Adventures of Mr Teddy & more...

Mr Teddy has left me. And Mumsy said I contributed to him leaving forever. This was what happened to Mr Teddy. As usual after my hoomans disappeared to do whatever hoomans do in the day, I was all alone with a bone and Mr Teddy in my hidey-hole. For some strange reason, I felt like playing with Mr Teddy that day. I flung him around, tugged and pulled at him and when I was finally tired, I saw that Mr Teddy had something whitish coming out from him. Intrigued, I decided to help Mr Teddy remove the white fluff and to my horror, it was endless!

When Mumsy came home that night, she thought that I was so bored that I tore off bits of my own fur. Until she saw Mr Teddy laying face down on the floor. I put him face down as I didn't want to see his accusing eyes. Mumsy turned him over and saw the source of the white fluff. She then told me sternly that Mr Teddy has to go and this time, I wasn't supposed to rescue him from the bin. So with one final lick, Mr Teddy was dumped in an undignified manner. I tried to rescue him but Mumsy's sharp eyes saw what I was doing and I got a rebuke for it. So now I am all alone in my hidey-hole at night. I wasn't used to it and whined for him the first couple of nights but my hoomans decided to keep me occupied (and exhausted, but more of that later) so that I won't remember Mr Teddy's absence. Here are some peektures if me when Mumsy discovered the mess and Mr Teddy before he was taken away from me.

To keep me occupied, my hoomans came home early for once last Friday, when the big globe of light was still shining. To my surprise, they brought me down to the big field I have always longed to run free in. And they actually unleashed me! Now you see, Mumsy hurt her toe last Thurs night while playing football with me. She had to have her whole nail removed (yes, I cringed when I heard it cos nobody is gonna ever remove MY toenails!), so she wasn't able to run and walk properly. The hoomans decided that I should be doing all the hard work, running after my favourite ball! Not that I am complaining, cos playing Fetch is my ab-soolute fav past time! Mumsy, in her haze of pain, forgot her camera so there wasn't any evidence of me running free like a wind! I enjoyed myself thoroughly, running after the ball. In fact I was so hyper despite looking tired, that my hoomans decreed that I should rest before I die on them or something. It was one of the best days I ever had.

Then today, the hoomans decided to bring me out again since the weather was bright and sunny. I was mad with delight but the sun was so hot! I felt tired only after a few runs and when a cocker spaniel and a lab pup came onto the field, I just collapsed into a heap and refused to run anymore. My hoomans were a tad concerned cos the last time I was still begging for more! I think they put two and two together and realized that wearing a fur coat and running around under the hot sun don't go together. I was promptly whisked home and given ice cubes to cool down.

But still it was wonderful running free without a leash, feeling the soft grass beneath my paws, rolling in it and generally having so much fun! This time Mumsy remembered her camera and here are the veedeos she took. As you can see, I kept on running back to her instead of Daddy and I think I inadvertently hurt Daddy's feeling.

Running free!

Thoroughly enjoying myself!

Returning the ball to the wrong hooman!

Chipped

Fee's warning came too late... Getting micro-chipped has nothing to do with chocolate chips! It was a tad painful in fact!

My usual Doc Dog wasn't around today and in her place was this pretty young thing! I wanted to impress her by being on my bestest behaviour (actually I was on my painful collar again). Daddy was the one that had to hold me and before I knew it, something painful entered the area somewhere between my shoulders. I gave a quick yelp but the pretty young thing told me it was done and gave me a rub. I mistrust her after that as Mumsy always says don't judge a book by its cover (although in this case it was a hooman). She then came after me with this metal thing and I ran away from her (the vet was trying to take his shoulder height for his license with a metal tape)! Daddy had to hold on tight to me so I protested by sitting down... Took them quite a bit to get whatever bits of my vital statistics. Oh yeah, the pretty young thing also felt me up! I was so embarrassed cos she left her hands there for an extended period of time while she chatted with Mumsy! Then the spotlight was off me and on Scruffy, my housemate, who was feeling under the weather.

I was glad to leave Doc Dog's place. I keep forgetting that each time I go there, it always ends with me traumatised. If this continues, my hoomans better have a sum of money for me to go for therapy!

I thought we were going home but Dad drove us to some place I never been before! Mumsy explained that the veehicle needed some repairs so Dad was to drop us off at Grandmama's place! I was apprehensive when Mumsy opened the door. The place smelled so clean that I didn't dare to put my paws in. I stuck close to Mumsy as Grandmama came and talk to me. She smelled cleaned too. After awhile, the hoomans brought me down to the garden and Mumsy let me off my leash! I went crazy chasing her around garden. It was so good to be able to run around without the leash though I made a point to stick close to Mumsy as I wasn't familiar with the place. I slowly got used to Grandmama and when Mumsy was too tired to play, I pottered around Grandmama while she did her gardening. Grandmama was trying to tell me to "Sit" but I don't know why it sounded like "Sheet"! Took me 3 times before I got her meaning! She said if I listened to her, I'll get to visit her more often. With a big garden like hers, of cos I will listen to her and tried to curry favour her by sitting at her feet. I thought I could get into her good books if I gave Grandpapa a lick too! Grandpapa said I was fat though, which I promptly tried not to laugh as I am anything but fat! Well, he did make it up by saying I got a gorgeous coat.

I got home completely tired. Even though today's trip started out painful, I got to run around a nice patch of garden and meet two new hoomans which I like very much. I hope Mumsy will bring me to Grandmama's place more often!

Mixed emotions

Daddy reappeared late Wed night, much to my delight! Had a good time playing with him before Mumsy packed me to bed. Knowing that Daddy was back made me sleep better that night. However, the next morning, I woke up at my usual time and my hoomans were still sleeping! They slept till the sun burnt their butts before waking up and feeding me my breakfast. I am still protesting against my yucky food cos I want my chicken drummets and lamb meatballs! In the end, Mum had to handfeed me before I managed to finish my breakfast. Well, actually Mumsy bribed me. She said if I finished my food, she will bring me out that afternoon.

The hoomans brought me to the beach! There were so many other hoomans there too! Even those smart tiny ones! I was so excited that I promptly dumped a load of crap! I saw other doggies there including one big corgi! The hoomans found a good spot to sit and while Daddy went to buy food, Mumsy and I played ball. There were two tiny hoomans watching me do my tricks and I liked hearing them laugh when I managed to catch the ball!

This is the first time I have been to the beach when the sun is still out! I finally saw the sea and boy, it looks scary. Daddy brought me down to the sand for a walk and tried to lead me into the waters but each time a wave came, I would promptly run the opposite direction! Call me a coward, but I don't think I am ready to master swimming just yet! However, everything tasted salty. The grass, the sand and the water! I never tasted anything so salty before! Hence I was drooling all over. Mumsy made sure that I had enough water to drink and even remembered to bring some of the yummy cookies and chicken jerky for me.

After some time, the corgi I noticed came over to say hello. There were two other doggies but they didn't seem to want to make friends and ignored me. Only the corgi came over to sniff me and I did the same too. My hoomans spoke to his hooman for a bit before they went off for a walk. Daddy too brought me for a long walk while Mumsy just sat there and bury her nose in another book. I saw many other doggies along my walk, but I was too engrossed in exploring the beach and sniffing other hoomans' stuff so I just ignored them. Well, I think I am still kinda small to be playing with those big retrievers! They would probably just squash me like an ant!

We left when the sun disappeared and I was tired by then. It was a wonderful day to be close to my two hoomans and exploring a new place.

On another note, Mumsy just told me that Trax, the grandpa of all corgis left us to go to Doggie Heaven this morning. I just saw him at the dog walk last Sunday and wanted him to teach me to be a samseng! My Mummy says he is at a better place now, waiting for his Mummy patiently. I can't imagine a place that is supposed to be nice, yet without my hoomans. I guess when the day finally comes, I would know.

Goodbye Trax! We will meet again!

Dog walk

The dog walk was fun! I never seen so many doggies in so many shapes and sizes in my life! But instead of going crazy, I was very well behaved. Cos Mumsy put on the painful training collar on me and if I ran around making friends, my neck would suffer.

My hoomans picked up Auntie Claudine and Prince William before the dog walk and I started my nonsense immediately! I scrambled to try to get to them in the car, and in the process I scratched Mummy quite badly. In my struggle, I accidentally hit the stick in the car and Daddy had to stop the car for me to calm down. I think I scared Auntie Claudine quite a bit with my over eagerness! Dad dropped us off at the starting point and we met up with Auntie Grace and Furby. Furby was in a stroller! That lazy Furby! Auntie C put Prince William in there too! That 2 lucky dogs, didn't have to waste a single ounce of energy walking! But I enjoyed myself tremendously, sniffing at other doggies' butts. I got chased by a BIG St. Benard! I keep getting chased by bigger doggies!

At the end of the walk (which was easy for me), Mumsy called Dad and found him and the car stuck in the mud. Dad was kinda annoyed so Mumsy had to help him get unstuck. There were some really helpful hoomans who tried their best to help us too. I must thank them for their help cos if they didn't we wouldn't be able to get out.

We went back to the party but I could feel that Daddy was still annoyed. Mumsy left me with some of the SOCK members while she went to look around. I saw my bro, Chester, looking all spiffy and smelling nice cos Uncle Ian brought him grooming! That lucky guy! Then there was another Chester, also a corgi whom Mummy was petting. He chased me away and promptly sat at Mummy's feet! I was jealous but Chez Bond (that's how we differentiate him from the rest) was too intimidating. Luckily Mummy didn't stay long and brought me to where Dad and Auntie C was. Silly Mum forgot her coo-poon so she couldn't redeem the goodie bag! I put my snout in Auntie C's and saw so many goodies! Why am I stuck with silly, forgetful hoomans?

Mumsy made up that mistake by getting me a big bagful of doggie cookies and lamb meat balls from US Doggie Bakery! I decided to be generous and shared my loot with Prince William. I could see he had a bit of problems eating them but nonetheless he was enjoying himself!
I saw Auntie Shannon and Big Chester there too.. My idol was there to perform his mean frisbee tricks! Being so short, I didn't manage to catch the whole performance. Lucas was there too and he made Chuckles do amazing tricks! I can't wait to grow up and learn all these cool stuff!

We left early since Daddy was still a lil' annoyed and Auntie C had to get back early too. I was very tired by then and was looking forward to snooze in my lil' hidey-hole. Here are the peektures of the dog walk! From top to bottom: me in the car, me trying to offer my paw to Mumsy so that I can get the darn cookie from her hands, Prince William and I, me and my spiffy bandana. Ham-some or not? Last peekture is all my cookies! Mumsy hid some away in my hidey-hole this morning before she left. I had fun looking for them and munching them up!

To the groomer's we go....

I had a new experience today! Last evening, Mummy was trying to cut my ‘thumb’ nail and being the naughty boy I am, I struggled like mad. Mummy accidentally cut off some of my quick and I gave a big yelp and bled all over the floor. Daddy saw the blood and scolded Mummy for being careless. I kinda pitied Mummy for getting scolded cos honestly it was my fault but I ain’t gonna tell her that! Mummy was so guilty that she gave me an extra serving of my favourite chicken jerky!

Anyway aft that that traumatic experience (I think Mummy was more traumatized than me), Mum brought me to the groomer this afternoon. At first I thought it was a treat as I haven’t been out for a couple of days (more of that later). I wagged my tail so hard at this huge guy at the groomer’s and when he led me off into a small room. I promptly forgot about Mummy and happily walked off without her. When I went into the small room, I saw 2 other doggies! I got even more excited! The big guy hoist me up onto a table and to my horror, grabbed my paws! I realized that I got conned into getting my nails cut! I struggled and struggled, looking for Mummy, but she wasn’t in the room with me. The big fella was now using some buzzing tool to do something to my paws (he was getting his paw pads shaved) but I continued to struggle.

All of a sudden I heard tapping and saw that Mumsy was standing outside and looking at me. She tried to talk through the glass and I could hear her telling me to stay. So for 2 seconds, I laid on my belly quietly before resuming my struggles. Luckily the big guy was patient with me and stopped for a moment to calm me down. He finished my four paws and I thought I was home free, until I saw the nail clipper! I struggled even more and yelped each time the nail clipper went ‘click’ (Cody was acting like somebody was out to murder him!). But by then I was getting a lil’ exhausted so the groomer cut them pretty quickly.

And still my ordeal was not over. He took the buzzing thing again and this time he aimed it at my, ahem, sensitive regions. Mummy later explained that the guy was shaving my nether regions so that my pee won’t wet my fur. That wasn’t so bad cos I felt much cooler aft that! I think I can handle it the next time I go to a groomer.

After getting out of the groomer’s shop, I immediately went berserk and wanted to chase those black things that can fly (he meant the mynahs). My hoomans normally bring me out when the sky is dark and I don’t get to see these flying black things. Coupled with the fact that I have not been out since Sat’s trip to the Botanny-cal Garden, I longed to run free. Now the reason that I have not been going for my usual walks is because I have been having the runnies (diarrhea). After the grooming, I offloaded quite a bit of watery stools. I feel perfectly fine though and tried my best to convince my hoomans to bring me out but Daddy was pretty firm about it. Hence all I have been doing is playing Fetch with them in the kitchen. So boring! I overheard Mummy making an appointment to see Dr Ling on Fri that means I get to go out and stretch my legs!

Mummy had to drag me home cos all I wanted to do was to run around and play with those black flying things. On the way home, I saw the hoomans living next door to me and guess what I saw tiny hoomans too. The tiny hoomans smelled very nice and they seem to be smarter than the big hoomans cos one of them could communicate with me with doggie language. He was going, “ooooo….” and “waaaaah”. Sounds like me when I want attention! The other tiny hooman came to pet my head. I wanted to pounce on him cos he was about the same size as my best bud, Chester, but Mummy held my leash tight. She then spent some time talking to the big hoomans while I tried my best to get near to the tiny hoomans. They even came to my home but before I could show them around, Mummy locked me up in the kitchen. I did manage to show them my housemates, Scrappy and Scruffy though.

It was a pretty eventful afternoon for me. Normally I would be all alone and I guess despite getting my paw pads shaved and my nails cut, it was a treat for me to have Mummy with me today. I wish she didn’t have to disappear every morning though. Sigh… I wonder where she goes?

Let's go out!

Mummy has been busy again! Though there was one day she got home much earlier than usual, but all she did was to hide in her hidey-hole and did not emerge till Daddy came home. I thought we could have spent some time together but seeing her tired face, I doubt she has the energy to run after me.

What shall I blog abt today? Shall I tell you all about my outings? I think I shall.

When my hoomans first got me, they couldn't wait to bring me out. Being so small and having an undeveloped munity (immunity), Mum said that I had to finish my jabs first before I can go out for walks. Daddy on the other paw, wanted to bring me just downstairs. One night when Mummy was working late, Daddy brought me down without her knowledge and after a fun walk, we waited for her to come home. When she saw me waiting, she didn't know if she should smile or scold Daddy. But I had lotsa fun. It smells so different from home, so many different scents, and so many different things to find out about. I kept chewing on everything I encountered! Some of the green ticklish stuff were quite nice to munch on. But Mummy will always pull me away when I smell something interesting to munch on! The other thing I like to pounce on to chew is tee-shu. They are white, some of balled up, some in loose fluttery pieces!
And there are trips to the vet. My first trip to Dr Ling was pretty scary as every other dog I saw were so much bigger than me. Dr Ling gave me a small sweet that tasted very bitter but being the silly puppy I was then, I gulped the whole thing down. Mummy said she (the vet) gave a jab but I didn't feel a thing. I like Dr Ling! She smells of many different dogs and cats and bitbits (rabbits) and peeggies. The last two trips to her was so fun! I kept trying to bite this shiny little off her chest (It was Dr Ling's button that Cody was trying to remove). I overheard her telling my hoomans that I was gonna grow up to be extremely naughty if I wasn't sent to obedience class. I was a lil' hurt by her comments cos I felt that I was on my best behaviour. All I meant to do was to be friendly (and get the shiny thing if possible)!

Of cos, Mummy packed me for kindergarten classes but I think I'll leave this for another post. I had so much fun there that I think I won't be doing it justice if I merge it into this post.

My first official trip was to a dogrun, with Chester, Benny and Furby. It was fun! I saw some really big dogs, but they weren't too friendly. I got chased by them and instead of coming to rescue me, my mean hoomans left me to fend for myself. Here's an embarrassing photo of me groveling to some husky. I was trying to be friendly only! Is being friendly a crime now? Anyway I got the chance to try the A frame and to jump over some hurdles. I did it once or twice then gave up cos no matter how many pieces of treat I get, the effort ain't worth it.

The embarrassing photo

Me on the A frame. I think I am afraid of heights!

Tired but contented me

Mum's favourite outing place is the Botanny-cal Gardens. She calls it going on a peegnic, but the peeggies don't join us! Daddy would bring me around the park while Mummy would just sit under a tree, reading her book. It was rather boring for me but Mummy seemed to enjoy it a lot. I can't chase the big dumb birds swimming in the lake, neither can I be off my leash. There are so many things to chase there! Kids playing frisbees and balls, other doggies going for their walks and lil' hoomans pottering about on unsteady feet!. I think she is planning to bring me there again this wheekend. May be, just may be, Daddy might let me go off leash for once!
