"Guard duty"
From Jul to Oct, my hoomans have been making sure that they lavish quite a bit of attention to me. Dad has numerous veedeos of me going off leash in the field chasing after my duckie, my balls and frisbees. I won't post them as they are rather boring. All you see is my sexy (ahem) butt running up and down to retrieve my toys.
But Dad did manage to capture one very unique veedeo... As Aunty Jane (Augus's mum) can attest to it, I am a very light sleeper. Any sound will cause me to wake up and look around. Dad managed to capture a veedeo of me 'guarding' the washing machine. Well, I don't know what guarding means, but from the way Mumsy uses that word ON ME, I m sure it meant something, well, not good. She said if I am going to be like that, I will prob make a lousy guard dog when the tiny hooman comes.
Hrmm...

The grape
At first I thought it was a really small ball. It was rather tasteless though. I chased it around with my tongue, licked it about and basically had a ball of a time (pardon the pun) with it. Only when Daddy made a move to take it away from it (bcos I didn't seem to want to eat it) that I swallowed it in a gulp.
Mumsy took a veedeo of it. Please pardon the shaky footage cos Mumsy has a lousy sense of balance with her huge tummy now.

Hi guys, I thought i would add a bit in about this grape issue. Mumsy would like to clarify that this is the THIRD grape I have ever eaten in my life. She didn't realise that it was toxic to me becos the very first grape I tried was one that fell out of her food bowl. I gobbled it up before she could stop me and was fine after that. That's why she thought it was ok for me. But now that she knows better, she has told me that I will never get to taste it EVER AGAIN. BOO!

Family!
Now I really love my housemates.. Just to refresh your memory again, Scruffy is a white/ lilac rex who looks like a panda bear. Scrappy, her sister, is also a white/lilac smooth coat that looks like a tapier. They live in my kitchen in 2 separate cages cos even though they are sisters, they fight!
I am unable to reach them since they are in their cages and my hoomans are worried that I might chomp them up if I do. It was during one of these lazy Sunday afternoons, under my hoomans' supervision that I finally gotta meet them face to face. And despite my hoomans' fears, I didn't tear them into pieces. In fact I love them soooo much that I gave them a good licking!!! I don't think they like it though, cos they were squealing like crazy.
Here's the veedeos Dad managed to capture. Can you see my abundant love for them even though they aren't, well, doggies. I still treat them like my older sisters.
Now my hoomans tell me that our family is going to expand again! This time a tiny hooman boy will be joining us at the end of the year. Apparently Mumsy is carrying him right now as I type. I mean I know Mumsy has been acting all strange in the last couple of months. Heck, she even smells different. Makes me wanna protect her, but she is avoiding me like a plague! Dad says it is not my fault that my natural scent makes her nauseated. She hasn't been going for walks with us so it is just Dad and I having some male bonding session.
The hoomans are trying to teach me to more sharing and more patient before the tiny hooman comes. But after seeing how I react with my piggy housemates, I think they now trust me with the tiny hooman. I haven't decided if I like him yet, cos I haven't seen him, but since I like all tiny hoomans, I am sure he and I will get along just fine.

Bones, bones, bones!
Alas, the usual milk bone I chew upon ran out, so Uncle Martin compensated by bringing me the biggest size he has. Mumsy doesn't like me eating the big ones because I take longer to finish it and I like to swing it about so violently that it packs a tight smack when it hits my hoomans. In fact, after getting one of these huge bones, I promptly gave Mumsy a huge bruise on her ankle after she stood too close to me while I was on my swinging rampage!
I couldn't wait for my hoomans to give me the bones. Mumsy had to ruin it all by making me dig for my bone! Needless to say, the whole plastic bag was covered with drool after that. Take a look at it!
I failed the first time around so Mumsy had to give me a helping paw. Got it on the second try!
I am off to enjoy another big bone... YUMZZZZ!

New Year, new trick!
Over the holeeday period, my hoomans taught me how to bark on demand. Mumsy discovered it by accident when she was reading the papers with Daddy. I wasn't allowed to join them but sat as close to them as possible only with the metal grill separating us. I was whining and whining, wanting to be with them so Mumsy got irritated and BARKED at me. Those hoomans finally got the hang of speaking Doglish and I happily replied! At first, they taught it was sheer coincidence that I replied Mumsy so she tried a couple more times! And of cos I replied them again! My hoomans billed it as a new trick but honestly it is nothing much... I am just communy-cating with them! Silly hoomans.
Since that day, my hoomans made it a point to communy-cate with me daily in Doglish! And lucky for them, I am not the chatty type and will only speak when spoken too. Mumsy said that was a good trait cos she doesn't want me bark non stop!
Here's a veedeo of us having a conversation. You can tell who has the better voice and enounciation!

One rainy evening...
If my hoomans are with me, I would try to hide behind them. But both of them are rather skinny so they don't really offer me much shelter. If I am in my hidey-hole, I will hide between the white throne and the wall. If I am in the kitchen, I run to the loo to hide under the sink! My hoomans don't like me doing that cos most of the time the loo's floor is wet and I will get my fur wet if I plonk down under the sink.
Anyway the last couple of weeks have been rather wet and my hoomans can't bring me out for my usual walks. So to get rid of my pent up energy, my Daddy played some games with me! I used to lose to him in such games when I was younger cos I am (if you haven't noted) very short. Now that I have grown bigger, I am starting to beat him at such games!
Here's a veedeo of one of these games. Dad tends to turn pale in the face after a few bouts of this but I am always raring to go again! I beat him in this veedeo and you can even hear his loser cry!
Enjoy!

Living like a "superstar"
So I started out standing on staircase landing, waiting to be sure all eyes were on me before I made my descent. Of cos my hooman bugbug-razzis had to take some shots of me preening and posing there.
When I finally do get down to the first floor, I make sure the camera is still on me and that my every move is being recorded down. My Mumsy said that it is like being Bean-ney Spears (I think she meant Baked Beans!), where every move the Bean-ney Spears makes, cameras will pop and flash. Bean-ney Spears drives crazily while I run crazily!
When I am eating, the bugbug-razzis continue to pester me for more photos. So much so that I lost my appetite and turned away. Eating is so unglam, yet they still wanna take peektures of me making a mess during meal times. No wonder all the superstars develop food disorders!
When I am out playing and getting dirt all over, the cameras follow! I think this bugbug-razzi has to change her camera! It is a shot that doesn't do me justice. Can't see my sexy silhouette because of the blurred edges!
Here's another shot of me with my bodyguard. I am trying to run and hide from the pesky bugbug-razzis while my skinny good-for-nothing bodyguard takes a leisure stroll beside me. I am gonna fire that guy!
These bugbug-razzis also take unflattering shots of me when I am not noticing! I don't know what my publicist is doing, allowing such ugly peektures of me to be published! I am gonna fire her too! Don't you think my butt looks fat in the second peekture? They should airbrush the peektures like what they do for Mimi Carey!

I got sick of the sub standard peektures and decided to give them my best smile, in the hope that all future publicity peektures will be of the same good quality as this one.

Being a superstar is tiring. I don't think I am cut out for such a life. I don't know how Bean-ney Spears does it, but I would recommend being a doggie is so much better than being a supersta
Don't you agree?

New toy!
My guilty look when Mumsy started yelling at meBefore I go any further, I would like to thank those doggies that posted their pet names on my blog! I think none of you got it as bad as me. Barn2 even has a Chinese name! Hrmm, we should turn the tables on our hoomans. Do you have pet names for them? I call my Mumsy The Klutz cos she is always knocking into stuff and hurting herself. And my Daddy would be The Bean Pole cos as the name implies, he is very skinny! Not very creative but it will do.
I haven't been doing much lately. No visit to Auntie Zoe's yet. Each time the wheekend rolls around, I would be eagerly anticipating a possible trip to see Benny. My hoomans made it up by getting me a new toy, a flying plastic plate called a frisbee. I was so excited about it that I made a flying leap in the kitchen like how I saw Big Chester did, and landed awkwardly. For a moment, I thought I broke my paw cos it was so painful. Mumsy did a check on me but after awhile the pain disappeared. My hoomans refused to bring me out just in case it was something serious but I just ran round and round the kitchen looking for the frisbee that they relented.
Here's a veedeo of me running after the frisbee. Dad said I must return it to him after catching it but as you can see, I had more fun mangling it!

Look at my drool string! Cool ain't it?The veedeo of me mangling the frisbee. I think I need a lot more practise before I can attain Big Chester's level.

The Final Adventures of Mr Teddy & more...
When Mumsy came home that night, she thought that I was so bored that I tore off bits of my own fur. Until she saw Mr Teddy laying face down on the floor. I put him face down as I didn't want to see his accusing eyes. Mumsy turned him over and saw the source of the white fluff. She then told me sternly that Mr Teddy has to go and this time, I wasn't supposed to rescue him from the bin. So with one final lick, Mr Teddy was dumped in an undignified manner. I tried to rescue him but Mumsy's sharp eyes saw what I was doing and I got a rebuke for it. So now I am all alone in my hidey-hole at night. I wasn't used to it and whined for him the first couple of nights but my hoomans decided to keep me occupied (and exhausted, but more of that later) so that I won't remember Mr Teddy's absence. Here are some peektures if me when Mumsy discovered the mess and Mr Teddy before he was taken away from me.
To keep me occupied, my hoomans came home early for once last Friday, when the big globe of light was still shining. To my surprise, they brought me down to the big field I have always longed to run free in. And they actually unleashed me! Now you see, Mumsy hurt her toe last Thurs night while playing football with me. She had to have her whole nail removed (yes, I cringed when I heard it cos nobody is gonna ever remove MY toenails!), so she wasn't able to run and walk properly. The hoomans decided that I should be doing all the hard work, running after my favourite ball! Not that I am complaining, cos playing Fetch is my ab-soolute fav past time! Mumsy, in her haze of pain, forgot her camera so there wasn't any evidence of me running free like a wind! I enjoyed myself thoroughly, running after the ball. In fact I was so hyper despite looking tired, that my hoomans decreed that I should rest before I die on them or something. It was one of the best days I ever had.
Then today, the hoomans decided to bring me out again since the weather was bright and sunny. I was mad with delight but the sun was so hot! I felt tired only after a few runs and when a cocker spaniel and a lab pup came onto the field, I just collapsed into a heap and refused to run anymore. My hoomans were a tad concerned cos the last time I was still begging for more! I think they put two and two together and realized that wearing a fur coat and running around under the hot sun don't go together. I was promptly whisked home and given ice cubes to cool down.
But still it was wonderful running free without a leash, feeling the soft grass beneath my paws, rolling in it and generally having so much fun! This time Mumsy remembered her camera and here are the veedeos she took. As you can see, I kept on running back to her instead of Daddy and I think I inadvertently hurt Daddy's feeling.
Running free!
Thoroughly enjoying myself!
Returning the ball to the wrong hooman!

Mr Teddy and I
Remember Mr Teddy? I wrote about him here previously. Last wheekend, Daddy was doing the usual cleaning of my hidey-hole and he decided to throw Mr Teddy away. He didn't bother to even ask me for permission and he just threw Teddy in the bin! I waited for him to go and do whatever hoomans do before sneaking to the bin and rescuing poor Teddy out. When Mumsy came down to check on me, she was surprised to see Mr Teddy lying next to me. She asked Daddy if he changed his mind on throwing Teddy away and Dad said no. They both stood there and looked at me for a minute (I was trying to look as innocent as I can cos I wasn't sure if I did the right thing by rescuing Teddy, Mumsy don't allow me near the bin) before it dawned on them that I took Teddy out! Daddy apologised and took Teddy away for a wash. So for the rest of the wheek I slept alone without Mr Teddy.
Teddy was finally out of the wash yesterday and Mumsy gave him to me. I immediately went bonkers and... well I think you can view the veedeo yourself and judge.
Mumsy took a look at me and shook her head. She then showed me what Mr Teddy looked like before she gave him to me. When I saw that, I was feeling a teeny lil' bit of guilt. Cos Mr Teddy doesn't look like Mr Teddy anymore. Oops... Here's how Mr Teddy looked before and after being friends with me. Mumsy said Mr Teddy makes a good case for corgi surgery!

Miss me?
But, this is going to be a short post cos I want to go and lick every inch of my Mumsy! I missed her so much. Late last night, when I heard her keys on the door, I thought my big satellite ears were playing tricks on me. I've given up on seeing her again. 7 days away from me is too long in my puppyhood! Anyway, the first thing she did was to climb up to see me and that's when I slobbered all over her. She didn't seem to mind though (my Mum hates to be licked, so weird right?). I spent the rest of the evening staying close to her.
She told me that the hoomans she were teaching were successful in their learning so I guess I will be seeing a lot of veedeos of rolling hoomans soon. I won't write about what I did in the 7 days that Mum was away just yet. My notes are in a mess!
I will leave you with this cute veedeo of 4 handsome corgis singing a song for some hooman called qween. Now this is what I call talent. I doubt the hoomans can do something similar. If any of you doggies have a veedeo of hoomans doing the same thing, post it and let me know!
