The grape

Mumsy currently has cravings for grapes. It's one of her all time fav fruits. That day, she got Daddy to get some for her and Daddy, being Daddy, always share stuff with me. He gave me one of her grape to try! Mumsy gave them to me before but cautioned Dad that I might choke on it. She told him to break the grape into half and not distract me when I am eating it.

At first I thought it was a really small ball. It was rather tasteless though. I chased it around with my tongue, licked it about and basically had a ball of a time (pardon the pun) with it. Only when Daddy made a move to take it away from it (bcos I didn't seem to want to eat it) that I swallowed it in a gulp.

Mumsy took a veedeo of it. Please pardon the shaky footage cos Mumsy has a lousy sense of balance with her huge tummy now.

Hi guys, I thought i would add a bit in about this grape issue. Mumsy would like to clarify that this is the THIRD grape I have ever eaten in my life. She didn't realise that it was toxic to me becos the very first grape I tried was one that fell out of her food bowl. I gobbled it up before she could stop me and was fine after that. That's why she thought it was ok for me. But now that she knows better, she has told me that I will never get to taste it EVER AGAIN. BOO!

The Main Event

I don't know if you have noticed the ticker on the top of my blog page. It is to count down to my barkday! Each day when I get to use this piece of metal, I will take a look at it. As you can see, my Math isn't that good so I need to constantly remind myself when my barkday is.

I have been browsing online for doggie cakes, in the hope that Mumsy will buy something decent for me. After the Christmas feast, I think my hoomans won't forget my special day. I was just browsing the US Doggie Bakery page (it is on my Favourites) and the sheer number of choices of cakes I can select from astounds me!

Should I choose from the fresh cream cakes which have SIX flavours (carob, vanilla, banana, strawberry, blueberry and pandan)?

Or the yummy healthy looking fruit jelly cakes with peaches, pears and strawberries on the top?

Or the sinfully rich fresh cheese cakes (again with a choice of SIX flavours and FOUR toppings!)?

Or the yummiest looking bone I have ever seen: the Muffy Cake that is made from either lamb or chicken?

I am soooo torn apart now. I WANT EVERYTHING!

Tell you what, why don't you guys gimme a helping paw and help me vote for my first barkday cake? I got all the way till next Wed to decide so please help me okie?

PS: I am willing to share my cake!

The big blinking trwee...

My hoomans put up this big thing a couple of wheeks back and I wasn't allowed to help. The reason being I would spend my time chewing on it and swallowing those glittery balls instead of helping them.. Which is true, I suppose. Anything is better than those yucky keebles.

Mumsy explained to me that it is a Christmas trwee... Christmas trwees only appear in December and they all come nicely decked out! She also explained that Christmas is a time where people (and dogs) exchange presents with each other and that if I am good, some hooman called Santa Cos will come and give me a present!

So every night, when I get to run around in the house, I will check under the Christmas trwee to see if any presents came for me. Sad to say, there is none so far. Sigh... So I have resorted to looking for presents that I want and leaving them on this screen in hope that my hoomans will buy me the right stuff. Take a look at these yummy food! Furrytreats' pie and pineapple tarts look absolutely yummy! Doggybitez and Greedy Pet Bakery look good too! And if I want something healthy I can always count on No Bones About It... Of cos there is always US Doggie Bakery to depend on if all else fails. Wonder if Mumsy will get me something from these places for my barkday! Or at the very least for Christmas!

Meal times

Anything is better than eating... I hate meal times. I would rather explore the already well-known area of the kitchen than eat my dinner.

My hoomans are fighting a losing battle. They have relented and now I have a piece of Primal's raw lamb nugget mixed with my keebles during meal times... I started wolfing my breakfast and dinner really quickly when they introduced it to me but I am starting to be sick of it. So it is back to pacing around the kitchen during meal times and driving them nuts with my lack of interest in food.

I wonder what will be the next thing they will mix into my yucky keebles after I stop eating my Primal-mixed meals...

PS: My doggie frens, if you want my dinners, tell me how to mail it to you! You can definitely have my yucky keebles!

The Bone...

My Sundays are filled with school now. With Chester graduating to agility, I have been working really hard to catch up and graduate soon! Lucas told Mumsy that I can start going for agility classes already but she doesn't think so and wants me to be absolutely good at obedience first. Cos honestly when there is another doggie around (preferably a gal doggie) I don't listen to her at all! I mean why would I want to listen to her NAG at me when there is a nice doggie (no white ones please) about my size that I can play with? Ah, but that's another story.

So after school last Sunday, Mumsy bought more milk for me (I like my food with milk, I'm still a pup!) and asked Lucas if it was ok to start me on real bones. My Mumsy is rather particular about dental hygiene and after this incident, I have been rather touchy with my mouth. I simply don't like anybody touching my mouth, although if it was Mumsy, I am slightly more forgivable. So to ensure that I have good teeth, gnawing on bones is the way to go. After some recommendation for Lucas, she chose the pork bone for pups for me! And I got to savour it that evening after my shower. Yumz!

After attacking the left, attack the right!

Don't waste! Smaller bits can be chewed on too!

I need my paws for better leverage.

Hrmmm which is the best way to finish it up?

Let's lie down and enjoy it slowly...

There's even a veedeo of me enjoying it!

Especially for Mama Soon

Mama Soon dropped me a surprise message here yesterday! I didn't expect her to remember such a naughty dog like me. Coincidentally, I wanted to write about my recent diet but after the long (and embarrassing) post last evening, I lost the mood to talk abt food.

Since I came back from Augus's place, I have been the perfect dog when it comes to food. Friends would remember I was rather finicky with food. But Mama Soon changed my viewpoint totally. Meals at her place were yummy and delishcious! I gobbled everything up partly because it tasted soooo good and partly I was afraid that Augus will eat my food (Augus was a perfect gentleman throughout the whole time). All the same, I realised that I am not the only dog in the world and there are others that won't be as nice as Augus and steal my food when I am not watching!

I brought the habit back home and my hoomans are very pleased with me. They no longer have to cajole me or play games with me for me to eat! And because I have been so nice, they went to Uncle Martin and got me some raw food! Now Chester my brother has been on raw stuff for most parts of his life and tells me it is very yummy. When I tried Primal Raw Food mixed with Oven Baked and Back to Basic kibbles, it tasted just the way Chester said it would: YUMMY!

Mumsy, encouraged by my new found appetite tried other stuff on me too. She learnt from Mama Soon that bittergourd is good at controlling my urine odour (what odour?) so she has been feeding me that too. I love it although I did catch my Mumsy saying she can't stand the darn thing! Look at me gobbling it up!

So Mama Soon, I have been a good boy!

Something smelly

No no, I wasn't referring to Dexter's pent up poo.. *grin*

My hoomans came back from their usual wheekend grocery shopping smelling some what stinky. As if they stepped on some poop (not mine!) and forgot to wash their feet. Yet the smell wasn't all that repulsive. But before I can sniff around their groceries, they brought me out and I happily forgot about it.

When I got home, the smell permeated everywhere. I was dying to find out but was whisked away for the much hated shower. When I was finally dry, Daddy revealed the source of the stinky smell, something called due-rians.
The hoomans took the whole smelly box and went off to watch teevee, leaving me sniffing in the air after them. I thought the forgot all about me but half an hour later, Mumsy came back with half a due-rian seed for me to try. Apparently it was becos Daddy was too full and couldn't finish the last seed. How apt right? I took a tentative sniff at it, then a lick. To my surprise, it tasted wonderful. Soft, sweet and creamy! I quickly gobbled the whole thing up and kept licking Mumsy's fingers for more, but she said that's all I am having.

Here are some photos of me eating the wonderful fruit. Mumsy told me it is called the king of fruits!

First tentative sniff

And the first lick

Finally going crazy for more

What's left of it

The Original Fussypot Pants

I got my chicken drummets yesterday for dinner! I gave up on my hunger strike and finished my food consistently for the last couple of days before Mumsy considered feeding me my fav food. It was yummy! And I think I ate too much. Cos Mumsy took the chance to give me the maximum amount I was supposed to be eating and mixed it with the chicken drummets. It was delishcious!

Just that this morning, I couldn't fathom why I could stomach plain keebles and decided to do my hunger strike again. Mumsy isn't too concern though. She told me I have just finished the whole can of chicken drummets and she ain't gonna ever buy it for me again. *sob*

The wheekend was pretty quiet. It was raining off and on so we didn't go to school. I didn't go for my usual walks too cos it was too wet or raining when it was time for me to stretch my legs. Despite being much cleaner than usual (since I was indoors for a few nights), I had to have my usual shower! Pooh! I protested during the blow drying and bit Daddy hard on his arm. For that Daddy refused to play, talk or even look at me for the rest of the evening, no matter how hard I tried. He did his disappearing act at some unearthly hour this morning before I had my chance to say sorry. Well, I guess I have to act all contrite when he returns on Friday for good.

Mumsy said I should take this chance to introduce the person who was the ORIGINAL Fussypot Pants. She met up with Auntie Hui Xian and Auntie May on Sat (BUT she didn't bring me along!) for lunch and coffee. And with them was Miss Fussypot Pants: Cate! Cate is older than me by 5 months and she is one of the tiny but smart hoomans I was telling you about. She speaks my language, likes to throw things around, like to lick everywhere, likes to scream (or bark) for attention, and... she is a Fussypot Pants too! She lives with Auntie H, and apparently Cate chooses to drink her milk powder by brands! If Auntie H buys a brand she doesn't feel like drinking, Cate goes on a hunger strike! Sounds like my soulmate! I think I am in love!

Here's a photo of Miss Fussypot Pants. I would prefer if she was hairier, but I ain't gonna complain.

Slurp!

I finally got to sink my teeth into the delishious Evanger's chicken drummet dinner, but I got only ONE miserable piece! Mumsy transferred the whole can out for me to see but before I can even take a whiff of it before she tapped my nose and kept the rest in the fridge! Can you believe it? One small piece only! So now I m smart. Whenever Mumsy opens the fridge, I'll sit right at the opening and stick my head in! My ears get cold though, but I am not complaining. Even if I can't get to eat them, at least I get to stare longingly at them.

Here's the photos of the chicken drummets! Mumsy mixed it with my old and new keebles. There's even carrots in the drummet sauce. There is even a veedeo of me enjoying the chicken! Obviously I went for the chicken first before the usual keebles. You can hear Mumsy and Dad talking in the veedeo cos Mumsy wanted to teach me to pick up food that I dropped before going back to my foodbowl for more. I am drooling all over Mumsy's metal as I type this. *slurp*

I am finally shedding too! My fur is everywhere and I am kinda pleased about it. Cos that means I am going to be a big boy. Chester, my bro, has been bragging to me about his new denser chest hair and I was kinda envious as mine still look sparsed and puppish. Now I can show off my new coat to him when I finally see him for the dog walk this wheekend! That lazy bum skipped school last Sun again.

I also get perverse pleasure of seeing Mumsy sneezing her nose off and chasing after those lil' dust bunnies made out of my fur! Those dust bunnies also keep me entertained as they seemed to have a life of their own. I am not that stupid to think that they are alive since they are part of me and I should know my body parts well right? I like chasing them though. *grin*

Here's some peektures of Mumsy brushing me. Don't I look like I am enjoying myself? I used to hate getting brushed but now I just flop on my belly and let Mumsy do her magic. She told me I needed to be brushed daily or I might get hotspots. Which I promptly showed her the one I have been worrying about since last afternoon. She and Dad immediately pinned me down to clean the wound and boy, it stings! This morning, they did it again and I growled and growled at them but they wouldn't let me go! But the wound didn't feel as itchy this morning as it did last night.

See the amount of hair I am shedding? That brush only ran through my fur 5 times and it got all clogged up! Mummy is complaining that she is eating my fur with all her meals!

Treats!

My hoomans came home later than usual last night. I was rather cross with them as I was still worried that Mumsy would disappear again. But when they got back, they showed me what they got for me and I immediately forgot my anger. Because they brought back lotsa stuff for me! They explained that they went to Uncle Martin's shop and did some shopping for me. I think Mummy is feeling a tad guilty for abandoning me the past 2 weeks! Here's a peekture of me posing with my pressies!
Here are three packs of Oven-Baked Chicken Dog Food for me to try! Apparently Uncle Martin gave them to me free! Then there is this thing I can't wait to try: Evanger's Roasted Chicken Drummet Dinner! The peekture on the can looks absolutely enticing and drool producing! Mummy said I only get to eat part of it on Sundays, after school, cos I am such a fussypot pants when it comes to food. She said after eating the drummets, I probably won't eat my keebles anymore! But Mummy has already added in the Oven-Baked keebles to my dinner and I love it! In fact, I have been picking out the Oven-baked ones and ignoring my usual keebles, much to Mumsy's exasperation.

And then there is my usual chicken jerky that I loooove... I finished the other pack already even though Mummy gives them to me very sparingly. The last 4 small packages are the Greenies! Mummy has been trying to check my teeth regularly and to her horror, she said she sees ta-ta and plate (it's TARTAR and PLAQUE)! Since I am a bit young to start on real bones, she decided that Greenies would be a good substitute.

I am a contented puppy!
